Frequently Asked Questions:
1) What are all of the printing options?
All of the images on the website can be printed on Giclée photo paper and canvas.
Giclée Prints: This is a fancy term for photo prints and the most affordable option available. The original art piece is photographed by a professional who will then print the photo on photo paper. Giclée prints are done on a high gloss photo paper that help to make the colors pop. People will often frame these prints. For more details on framing, see below information.
Canvas Prints: The original artwork is photographed by a professional who will then print the image on piece of canvas. These look very similar to the original piece because the originals are painted on canvas as well. The print will then need to be stretched over a wooden frame so it can be hung on the wall. For more information on where to have your canvas print stretched, see below information.
Canvas Prints with Neon Highlights: These are canvas prints where I will apply a small amount of neon acrylic paint. The printer I utilize will ship the canvas print to me first, and I will add bright neon color highlights to the canvas print. This allows for the final piece to look more similar to the original. My original artwork pieces are very bright colored and contain a large amount of neon tones. Fine art print companies are unfortunately unable to replicate all of the neon tones. A non-highlighted print still looks amazing, but the added paint really makes the final print pop. If you order one of these prints, the estimated time until you receive it will be four weeks. The company prints and ships the canvas print to me, I paint the canvas print, and will then mail it directly to you. If you need a piece sooner than this, we can discuss rush order fees. 2) What will be needed if I purchase a Giclée print?
You will need to purchase a frame for any Giclée print. These can range in price depending on whether you have it professionally done, or purchase the frame yourself from a local retailer. You can have the piece professionally framed at an art gallery, art framing shop or local retailer such as Hobby Lobby and Michaels. I would Google search “art framing in” followed by your location and view your options.
3) What will I need to do if I purchase a canvas print or canvas print with neon highlights?
The canvas print will need to be stretched on a wooden frame. Once it is stretched and the proper hanging equipment is applied, the artwork will hang nicely on your wall. Local art galleries, art framers, fine-art production companies, or retailers such as Hobby Lobby and Michaels will have this available. I would Google “canvas stretching in” followed by your location, or call around to local companies for quotes.
4) How are different art prints shipped?
Photo prints, canvas prints, and original acrylic paintings will be sent in a tube. It is extremely difficult to get a flat piece of artwork to you safely. Flat packages are more likely to be stacked, bent, and squished underneath other packages while being sorted and transported. These problems are much less likely to occur within a strong tube container. The artwork will be rolled up with acid-free paper for further protection during transportation.
5) What should I do with my rolled up artwork after I receive it?
I highly suggest having a professional handle and finish off the piece you purchase. If you have a photo giclée print, you will need to flatten it and then put it in a frame.
If you have a canvas print, a canvas print with acrylic paint highlights, or an original acrylic painted piece, you will want to have it stretched over wooden frames. Art galleries, art printers, and retailers such as Michaels and Hobby Lobby will be able to complete these for you. The professionals will stretch your canvas over a wooden frame and add hanging accessories.
6) How does a commission of an original art piece work?
This is your opportunity to tell me exactly what you want, what style, what colors, and what size of piece you would prefer in your home. All commissions will be acrylic paint on canvas. For example, someone might come to me and say, “I love the piece “The Tunnel” but would like an original one a bit smaller, like a 20 x 20 inch.” I would then make another piece similar to “The Tunnel” on a smaller canvas.
